Is this who I think it is?

Post by shane »

I wouldn't call her lost, but I was adding content to the Madisonville Elementary site today and came across this picture. I read over this thing 10 times before the eyes caught my attention, then the name registered.

Here's the text that accompanied the item:

Jerri Byron
Bus Driver

This is my 4th year as a bus driver for St. Tammany Parish.

I have driven both high school students and elementary students. I really enjoy the elementary students, and I am happy to be driving for an elementary school again.

I am very glad to be here at Madisonville Elementary school. I think these are the best kids and parents in the parish.

I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two children, one 17 years old at Covington High School and a 12 year old at Pineview Middle School. My hobby is camping. My family and I love to go camping.

I don't think I knew her...then again, I only recognize about 4 people on that page.

Shane, you're about as bad as Scott Short... I went to visit him in LA last month as my daughter now goes to college in LA and he remembers everyone's birthday, anniversary, mind like a steel trap. I can only hope to aspire to be that good. I'm lucky that I remember where my keys are... I think you two both played that memory card game too long as kids...

Shane, that's definitely Jerri. I ran into her not too long before our reunion, and she told me she was driving a school bus. I thought I had hyped her up enough to come to the reunion, but they didn't make it. They still live off Jahncke in Covington.

Yep, definitely Jerri. Hadn't seen her in a long time. I believe the last time was sometime in the 90's when her hubby, Rodney, fixed my car. He used to be a mechanic at Hood Chevrolet but I don't know if he still is.

I think the last time I saw Rodney, he had just thrown a brick through my windshield. God, I miss those times....
